Worth, Illinois is a hidden gem in the southwest suburbs! This small cozy town is a wonderful place to live on your own or with a family. There are many affordable starter homes to choose from as well as newly constructed brick homes. One of the common features you'll see in Worth when you come to visit is home additions, which shows that when folks move to Worth, they want to stay!
Property taxes are very reasonable, and our local government boasts a reputation of working to save tax-payers money and use resources wisely.
Everything is within walking distance: Grocery, pharmacy, library, train station, parks, churches and schools. A little known fact is that Worth is less than one mile's walking distance to a beautiful nature preserve called Lake Katherine. The preserve offers a gorgeous waterfall, a wooded one mile walking trail around the lake as well as educational and recreational opportunities. Worth is also within two miles of Moraine Valley Community College, which offers a modern campus with affordable high quality education, theater presentations, and a state of the art recreational facility open to the public. The local Catholic parish is Our Lady of the Ridge, which offers the most affordable high quality Catholic eduation in Illinois.
The mature trees and friendly neighbors add to the beauty and promise of this town. My family and I have resided in Worth for 16 years and are pleased to say that it is a wonderful place to live!
