Cooperstown has many positive attrubutes including a world class hospital (Bassett), a great gymn and sports center that costs only $100.00/yr for membership, and a georgious lake with docking privileges for residents. We have an art museum, a historical village, several art galleries, summer opera, and 2 concert series.
Most people put up with the summer tourists, who help pay our taxes. To me, the major drawback is cold long winters. Most people in Cooperstown go south, at least for a couple of weeks in the winter.
