I’ve lived here my entire life and travelled the majority of the country and I have to say - I just don’t understand why anyone is moving here. The prices have skyrocketed to the point where if you aren’t coming from California with 700k cash from a sale - you just won’t be able to afford it. I would say 90% of the town is uneducated hicks who want to disguise their racism as patriotism. It’s become a very unsafe place for raise a family and is not the small town I used to love. The restaurants are mediocre, and you have to wait 45min-an hour just to be seated and service sucks. The summers are over 90° and winters below 20°, it’s just not a good place. Beautiful to visit and has wonderful outdoor activities. I will never recommend Coeur D’ Alene, ID to anyone educated or looking for culture. If you want a town full of Trump flags and coffee stands - this is the place!
