Our own government set off Nuclear bombs in the US -
9/6/2021I love the Western Slope!! While there are a lot of good things to be said about the Western Slope of Colorado, which Rifle is, there are some concerning things as well!! Lots of sunshine, almost no rain, large numbers of snakes, short supply of water, hunters paradise, Colorado River recreation. But, most alarming is that the federal government exploded a nuclear bomb 8300 ft below the surface on Sept 10, 1969!! The bomb was twice the size of the one's dropped in Japan during WW2! The bomb was used to release natural gas deposits in the limestone rock. While it worked the area is somewhat radioactive! Also, nearby New Castle has the longest burning fire in North America!! Some 130 years!!

C d'A is a wonderful place & the Iron man tri-atha -
4/26/2020I've always loved C d'A!! Great place, love the climate, & the food is wonderful!! While I lived west of here in Spokane, I visited often!! The parks and resort is wonderful!! Golfing is fantastic!! Never before have I thought to hit the ball over the trees and not been successful!! Mtns on both sides is fantastic!! There is drug use & there is crime, Spokane is worse! If you love snow skiing and winter, put a giant check mark here! At least 5 ski resorts with in an hour!! Very close to Canada if you want to visit for a wine tour or more great food!! Really hope that the silver mines stay closed as they pollute everything with heavy metals!!

12/30/2019The air quality is often bad!! Darn bowls anyhow!! Lately the growth has been from the west coast moving in. This is often bad because they have left the coast because it's turned into a sewer with homeless crises and poorly run governments, yet they continue to vote and live the same way without self check to better themselves!!

12/30/2019Great interview!! Largely accurate from what I've seen!! The west coast continues to move east and pollute and destroy along the way! The saddly ironic part is that they have left the coast because they didn't like what politics has done to destroy everything, yet instead of learning from this and changing for the better, they continue to destroy by voting liberal!!!

Don't sell the ski resort(Big Mtn/Whitefish)!! -
10/14/2018I love Whitefish! While I love Whitefish, I worry about the future. Whitefish has been a wonderful place to live for years. People are friendly & you know everyone. However, everything is changing. Word has gotten out and the west coast is moving in. Cannabis is getting to be rather common. Home prices shot through the roof some 8 years ago, and is only now starting to come down. Tax is way too high! They keep increasing taxes and don't lower taxes when projects are paid off even though promised. I hope to run for city council to help preserve the future. Water issues are common and there is a small war ensuing over it! With all of the fishing, hunting, and gun mfg around the area, it's hard to believe that it is a liberal community! Schools, farmers markets, and music is good!

10/14/2018Good luck getting your GED! Unable to pull up any divorce rate stats! At 7000+ elevation, it's not for everyone! Steamboat is and has been for 30+ years my favorite ski mountain! The hot springs are invaluable! Short grow season inspires people to be active. Ranchers don't like that yuppies have changed the culture, especially the cost of living! Life at the mountain is very different from town. Only place I've ever seen that doesn't have a marching school band, they have a skiing school band! The largest elk herd in the country (world) is just west of town. Fly fishing is far from being a fad! Try it sometime.
