Such lies and blatant bigotry. I've lived in the Appleton area since 1998 and if it weren't for the horrendous winters I'd stay here after I retire. Unemployment is low (2 mills closed or downsized this past year and other mills vacuumed up the resulting job hunters. If you can't find a decent job here you are either lazy, a job hopper, have a criminal record, or are unwilling to put in the hours to get the pay you want. Simple. And where else do you have Mile of Music (free!) in a town this size? Don't turn up your toffee nose at PAC either. Big names and acts show up at PAC on a regular basis. The Fox River is NOT polluted like it once was. I worked at a mill where I could look into the river and see the fish and birds (cranes, pelicans, sea ducks, mallards, herons, etc) swarming all over the place. I have a waterfront home that I paid less than 100k for in the year 2000. It's paid for. Property taxes are really high here and are one of the few negatives besides the weather.
