A very wide divide

Pros: BEAUTIFUL area. If you've got a bit of coin and feel like staking a business, Wellsboro would invite you with open arms. Wellsboro is a tourist town and the businesses that survive cater to the tourism. Just good luck finding a location. The reason behind the tourism is no contest. Tioga County is a beautiful part of Northern Pennsylvania, almost barely touched by humans compared to other areas. The outdoor activities are numerous, the number of hiking trails and state forests to get lost in are countless. If you are an outdoorsy person, Wellsboro might be for you.
Cons: This town is a tourist town. It caters to tourists while dismissing the locals. Traffic is HEAVY. Plan accordingly. (And the saying about Pennsylvania drivers is absolutely true.) If you drive around town you see for rent signs everywhere, but no one can afford the outrageous rent. I'm not sure when this page was last updated, but its dead wrong. Factories are closing up and people are moving away. People who are still here can't afford to live, and no one is hiring. I went to an open interview in town and they were overwhelmed with the number of people trying to get a job. They filled up an entire firehall. Theres also a huge drug problem and every summer the local papers talk about which teenager died that week.
In short, Wellsboro is a great place to visit, but be sure to move on.
