Review of Bronxville, New York

Cute, Busy, but Expensive Village
Star Rating - 9/26/2007
Bronxville is an island oasis of safety and relative calm in lower Westchester County. One mile to the South is Mount Vernon, which has many of the congested aspects of the Bronx. To the West is Yonkers, where suburban neighborhoods quickly give way to dense urban development. Bronxville, itself, is a quiet, clean, safe, and enjoyable place to walk around, visit coffee shops, eat at restaurants, and browse books and antiques. The train station is at the heart of the community, and it's close proximity to Manhattan, but quiet feel gives the town the ideal mix for commuters and their families.

Just one problem. The average house price is close to a million bucks. In New York, all comfort comes at a price.
