Review of Athol, Idaho

a lovely little town
Star Rating - 8/1/2006
Athol is a very small town in northern Idaho. With a population of about 800, there are some very large homes and very small homes. With such a small population, it is interesting to note that many of the homes would list at close to 3/4 of a million dollars.
Athol recently opened its first dedicated food market, which makes its population very happy not to have to drive into "town" (15 miles away) when needing an item quickly, or during the winter.
Having moved here from......dare I say it....California, I don't find the cost of living to be that much less. Homes are much less expensive but costs such as heating, electricity, difficulties with wells, limited choices for phone/cable/internet services tend to even out expenses.
