Review of Hillsville, Virginia

Potential with no motivation toward improvement
Star Rating - 5/27/2019
The town of Hillsville is overripe for revitalization. The surrounding county of Carroll is the poorest county in Virginia and the area is sadly depressed, which depression seems to have sapped energy from optimistic attempts at growth. While 60 years does seem to be the cutoff age for incoming retirees, the most physically attractive area is Fancy Gap, a bit south of Hillsville. From Fancy Gap one can travel to Mt.Airy, NC or Hillsville in about the same time. The Hillsville Police Dept. responds promptly. The County Water System delivers undrinkable water.
