Review of Broken Bow, Oklahoma

May be up and coming community!
Star Rating - 12/4/2006
Broken Bow is in the southeastern corner of OK in a heavily wooded area. There are many attributes in this small town. The Beaver's Bend State Park is gorgeous. Its minimally commercialized, and its an Army Corps of Engineers lake, so its very enjoyable and is well preserved. The water is pristeen. There is very little industry in this area contributing to pockets of real poverty; however, this community also has lots of money coming into the area~particularly from Dallasites buying up property and getaway homes. The town is quaint with lots of rich history, especially about the Choctaw Nation. Housing is reasonable, but not as much for new homes close to the lake. They seem to be very overpriced. Recently, there have been several great restaurants open. We particularly like those off the highway to the lake. If you visit, you have to go to the Indian Museum at Beaver's Bend. Its wonderful for the entire family!
