Why is the crime level so high and what types of c

Show Low on the surface seems like a perfect place for us to retire to (summers not so hot/great outdoor activities/small town living, etc) However, on a scale of 1 (low) to 10 (high), Sperling's lists Show low at a nine. :( Can anyone please provide us with some comments on this statistic?

I agree that Sperling's objectives are not the normal retirement objectives, and the result is that Show Low doesn't score very high with Sperling but it scored higher with me.

Its just my guess but some of the surrounding towns have a high crime rate, such as Globe. The police typically do not pursue Natives in areas close to the reservation because they cannot enforce the law there. But its been my experience Show Low/Pinetop-Lakeside is a nice place to live, and when considering the cost of living and the climate probably better than average for a rural community.
