Review of Rahway, New Jersey

A Commuter Town
Star Rating - 8/9/2009
I have lived here for five years and commuted into NYC at least once a week. Rahway is a good town for young professionals who work in NYC. There are two train lines that run through Rahway. You can catch a train to the city at least every 20 minutes. There are plenty of town houses and apartments for rent. It is not a town you would want to raise a family since the school system is rated below average compared to other surrounding school districts. It is affordable but the air quality is less than desirable. The town has its own incinerator and the water is not all that clean. Crime is a bit high. I am moving because of the people. I live in the downtown area (the less desirable area) and the majority of people do not take care of their property and live like slobs. On top of that, you get harassed when walking your dogs around the neighborhood and in the city parks. Taxes are way too high and you do not get a return for your money. The town waste the taxpayers money by buying expensive police cars.
