Review of Morristown N.J. Quality of Life
Star Rating - 10/20/2012
Hello all,
I am new here was asked to comment on my area of the planet where I have lived for the last 12 years.
Morristown is the county seat of Morris County. The county itself is politically red though the town itself is 25% Hispanic and the contrast between 1% and the rest of the population is marked. Housing is extremely expensive and affordable housing almost non existent. The town is relatively safe though weekend nights features a vibrant nightstand for the gym, tan, and laundry crowd of folks that will result in bar fights. Traffic volume is such that it impacts citizens trying to run errands or pedestrians crossing the street. Local traffic rules I.E. pedestrian right of way are generally ignored. This is an SUV/HUMMER destination and one must be hyper vigilant. Local stores are generally non existent so food and general shopping is done in neighboring towns.
Public schools are generally well run but property taxes are extremely.
There is a train station direct to N.Y.C.
In a snap shot, if you are wealthy it is great place to live. Other socioeconomic brackets trending downward can find it increasingly challenging. There is a myriad of cultural pursuits and generally the weather is four season traditional without degree extremes.
