Review of Collinsville, Oklahoma

Utilities!!!!
Star Rating - 4/16/2010
The utilities in Collinsville are very high. We pay twice as much for the water services then we did while living in Tulsa. If you live in the City of Collinsville you can only get power & water services from them. My opinion about Collinsville is that, if you can't afford between $300.00-$500.00 a month on utilities in the summer and $200.00+ in the winter (that's for a modest 3 bedroom home,i can't imagine if our house were bigger) , don't move here. If I would have know the cost before I moved here I would never have bought a house in Collinsville. Collinsville also has a very bad stray animal problem-cats and dogs. The grocery store here is small, dirty and the prices are outrageous. I have also heard from long time residents that there is a huge drug problem too. But I don't know from personal experiance. Now,I will say that in the time of need, the fire & police department have done a good job, and we really do appreciate them! So please, learn from our mistakes. Research these things before you buy a home in a new place. No one told us as first time home buyers what types of things to research for the homeowner long run.
