Review of Plum, Pennsylvania

Mixed Feelings
Star Rating - 8/25/2006
I grew up in Plum, but don't think I'll move back there. There are many positives to living there, and it is a very attractive place for families who find themselves in a position to spend an arm and a leg for housing. There is no "town", or central business district and all of the roads are two lanes and maximum 35 mph, so getting around is a bit tough and shopping is virtually non-existent within the borough-limits. No public transport throughout the town, but if you live in the Holiday park section there is an express commuter bus to Pittsburgh. Very little racial and economic diversity, and limited housing opportunities. People with kids seem to love living in Plum, but there isn't much there for singles-or any young person for that matter.
