Still affordable and close to NYC!

I actually live in a small hamlet of the Bronx called Throggs Neck, but neither the Bronx, nor Throggs Neck are listed so I had to choose New Rochelle, our neighbor. Throggs Neck has lovely sections in it that makes you feel like you are living in the Suburbs rather than in the city. The waterfront is beautiful and at night it's breathtaking with the city views and bridges panorama. The homes are comparably priced and most homeowners show pride in their homes. However, in the past 10 years or so,some sections have changed quite a bit due to over development of new homes and commercialism. It is now quite congested with traffic, but it still is a good place to live if you want to be near the city and have a farely short commute.
