Review of Cuba, Missouri

City of Murals!
Star Rating - 10/10/2008
I visit Cuba to see my father who lives there. Cuba is the city of murals, colorful, eye-catching murals all over town have helped to revitalize the once-dreary landscape that is Cuba. Although many parts of town are run-down, it's a safe place to visit and shop and dine. Some good eats include Hick's BBQ and the bar with the rocks all over the outside, cant remember the name the it's a good local hangout. Plus, Cuba is near some good trout fishing! Being right on Interstate 44 helps to make it a convenient place live if you do alot of travelling.

The restaurant with the rocks all over the front is Rock Fair. Other good independently owned restaurants besides the chains are Friscos, Main Street Bakery and Cafe, and East Office. Go to cubamomurals.com to read about the 12 outdoor murals and blogs about this Route 66 town. The Guinness Worlds Largest Rocking Chair is located in Cuba and is an interesting place to visit. There are also privately commissioned art work throughout the town, including the grocery store. There is a nice Visitor Center by the I-44 overpass where you can get brochures about local attractions.
