Yes, it sucks now. This place is ruined - and I've heard or read that reflected by people who make much more $ than I do, and are better off than I am. So it's legit, based on that criteria. No one is immune to massive crowding, bad attitudes. I'd say the job will be completed in another 5 to 10 years, and there won't be any open space at all left, with exception of Ridge to Rivers trail networks, and all parcels of open space, old farmland, etc will be built up as densely as possible. Just like the corrupt former Mayor Bieter, was paid off for, by greedy developers and a puppet city council. I moved here almost 20 years ago and have gotten NOWHERE from the wages offered (not a high level professional) and now just want to finish my working years, save as much money as possible, stay fit and enjoy my time - so me and my gf we are looking to get out in the next year. Short list of places is growing. On the list: Yakima/Eastern Washington, South Dakota, Eastern Oregon - we didn't care much for Baker City as the network of mountain bike specific trails isn't built out enough (I AM spoiled from Boise in that respect), and the place just seemed a little weird? Maybe John Day area, other areas Eastern Oregon. California is ruined - all of it, so that's out! She doesn't want to live in the South or East Coast - due to humidity and bugs (mosquitoes) and I don't blame her. We'll see. Boise is absolutely full of itself now - which makes it more annoying than anywhere in California, actually! If they increase my rent the way I think they are going to, very soon - I will be forced out faster than I had intended.
