Clovis is NOT a good place to live.

Having been here almost since I was born, I can tell you that Clovis is NOT a good place to live. I saw several other ratings that mentioned how people here don't like "outsiders" and are rude. It isn't just new people. The people here do not treat people from here nicely either, it's why I don't leave my house.
You've already read that it smells bad, looks bad, and has horrible healthcare. Every single one of these is true. Medical care is especially heinous, and I personally have been gaslighted by medical providers here and no longer trust any of them, even as primary care physicians only.
What I haven't seen mentioned is the lack police work.. They do NOTHING about real crime, but have charged people with crimes falsely because someone in the police department is trying to get revenge. I've seen it, more than once. The people here are likely to vote "guilty" without anything at all having been proven to them. People here are hateful, period. Of course, there are some nice people here. I would say an overwhelming majority of people here are probably not very nice however. BUT! Can you really blame them? I have friends and family who have been arrested and charged with crimes that their cousins committed, or that the cops couldn't prove who committed it but an innocent person was convicted successfully. I have seen a police officer lie on the stand, straight up. Everyone here is also very poor, live in terrible conditions, can't get decent jobs or liveable pay, but have no rights at the same time. We can't have backyard chickens here, but Albuquerque can. There is 0 customer service no matter what establishment you visit and food quality is usually not that great at most restaurants. There is no real help for families if they need it, there are only more problems. There is nothing for kids to occupy their time with, nothing for adults to occupy their time with, and even businesses are run down looking often times. Housing is over priced for what this place is. There are no jobs. Is it really any wonder that the people are not very friendly here?
Is it any wonder there are so many drugs when there is nothing to do? Or when people are hardly making it? What do you think they are going to do if the quality of life is so far down there.
I am convinced the actual crime here is no higher than anywhere else in New Mexico, but the police department being corrupt as it is makes it look that way. Sky high crime rates does not
