Review of Lima, Ohio

Poor, poor, poor
Star Rating - 9/19/2007
I am a transplant to this northwestern Ohio town from Pittsburgh, PA. I am amazed how depressing and sad it is to live in this small town. I was from a suburb of a big city so access to recreation, wonderful food, ethnic diversity, education and all of the other benefits of living near a big city could provide. There is significant job loss here. Many manufacturers have sold off to Mexico. The food is awful. There is absolutely no high quality food or restaurants in this area. I am not exaggerating. I can't even find a good loaf of crusty bread. They are stagnating in this poor little city but no one who grew up here realizes it. I am taking the first opportunity I can to leave this area and head for some place that offers life, instead of soybeans and corn as your only topic of conversation. Not to mention the highest amount of alcoholism I have ever personally witnessed. It is no wonder everyone is depressed and have given up hope.
