This is a great town to live and raise a family. The central location is wonderful, close enough to take a day trip to Seattle. There's skiing close by, rivers to go fishing, great mountains to go camping, and a number of other things to do.
The only complaint is the increasing cost of housing. Within the last five years, the house value has jumped tremendously. This has resulted in a high cost of houses and rent. For many residents who live and work in Ellensburg, it can be tight to strain a budget to afford a home. However, for many who have migrated here from the Seattle area, the housing is tremendously cheaper and the cost of living way more affordable.
The school system is wonderful, with Central Washington University in the town with a great Education program, the teachers at the local schools always have great credentials.
