Review of Hampton, Virginia

Hampton, full of history and lots to do and see
Star Rating - 9/20/2018
We live in Downtown Hampton within walking distance of the Langley Air and Space Museum, Hampton Carousel, the Hampton History Museum and tons of shops and restraunts. We have taken the short 10 minute car trips to Buckroe Beach and Fort Monroe and enjoy spending time at both. Our home and neighborhood are historic and full of beautiful well cared for homes. We love our little slice of Hampton.

We have had the opportunity, on many occassions to spend time in other parts of the city, and find there to be great shopping and fun things to do. You can find everything you need from groceries, books, movies, and electronics on Mercury Blvd. down by the Hampton Coliseum. They have all the stores and dining you could want in Peninsula Town Center and over on Power Plant Parkway.

Just like any city there are neighborhoods with homes in disrepair or with a higher crime rate, but we have yet to meet anyone that we would consider to be dangerous in person. If you're considering moving to Hampton and are concerned about crime just do what you would do when moving to any other city and look at the neighborhoods you are considering and check with the crime rating websites and local police.

Hampton is a diverse city with great food, lots of shopping, plenty of things to do, and a rich history. If you're considering moving here or want to visit try not to focus on the negative reviews and come see for yourself. Many of these reviews are over several years old and don't paint an accurate picture of the Hampton I know.
