Rents are very high in Fort Lauderdale because builders have not built more affordable housing -- as you can see from the downtown cranes, it is Luxury apartments. Pompano Beach just completed a project on Federal and 4th Street and recently approved another as did Deerfield Beach. When high rise apartment buildings can get $2500-$3,000 for a 2 bedroom tiny apartment, they will -- There was a big article about the need for affordable housing in the Sun Sentinel in the early Spring.
