Review of Fern Acres, Hawaii

Underrated Oasis!
Star Rating - 1/20/2023
You are allowed to decide how you want to live here! I came from a strict, gated community with high monthly HOA fees on the mainland to this oasis of freedom and natural beauty. You have 2 acres to work with, can you imagine? On the lush, fertile, rain forest side of the island with a balanced amount of rain and sunshine! You can plant amazing trees, create a small forest in your yard, grow a huge vegetable garden, fruit trees, fish ponds and so on. You can live like a millionaire on an average income. No one here restricts your imagination and creativity. No need to ask for approval from the HOA if you want to plant a few trees or paint your house your favorite color. There is something for everybody, if you are on a small budget, start with a small cabin and slowly expand. You can also buy amazingly luxurious homes for a good price. Here is a great example for the potential of Fern Acres: check out "Volcano Eco Retreat" Bed & Breakfast Resort on Hibiscus Street and you will understand what I am talking about. Let's talk about its "rainy" reputation, shall we? It used to rain a lot in the past, but due to the general "drying up" of the islands, this place now gets a "Goldilocks" amount of rain and sunshine. It has a tranquil, far out in the country kind of feel but is close to Keaau and Hilo. This place can be a paradise retreat for the right person.
