Review of Prairie Village, Kansas

Prairie Village
Star Rating - 10/14/2010
A mixture of post-WWII homes to 1980s. All land is now developed, so new homes only come from tearing down original homes. Middle-class, white collar to upper class. Plenty of parks, country clubs and open areas to enjoy on a walk. Small but sufficient shopping centers scattered. Excellent public school system. Most neighborhoods are very shaded with tall trees. Highly zoned and regulated through by-laws, it's a good area for raising children. Quite a few seniors still living in the area after raising families.

"New homes only come from tearing down original homes." The city of Prairie Village and some Homes Associations regulate the building of new homes to replace post-WWII homes so that new homes (while larger) have the same style of existing homes in the older neighborhoods which resemble a New England village.
