Review of Bartow, Georgia

Not What It Used To Be
Star Rating - 3/21/2017
Best Places says Bartow County's population has increased 88.6% since 2000 and that is our primary problem. Our infrastructure has not kept the pace. We have been building new schools nearly every year and our property taxes have increased exponentially and still, more people move here. I don't understand how our cost of living can be lower than the national average when we are overtaxed by Georgia and Bartow County and gouged by Georgia Power and gasoline prices are always higher than surrounding areas. Everywhere we go, there is a long waiting line whether it be in traffic or the grocery store. We have a high rate of crime with many unsolved murders and I think the local paper doesn't even report it anymore because it makes us look so bad. And on top of all this, there is absolutely nothing to do here! No mall, few restaurants, no bowling, no roller skating, no concerts, nothing except the movie theater and certainly, nothing free! NOTHING! I am preparing to sell out and move.
