Great place to live

My husband and I moved to Longmont from South Africa. It is a great place to live! The outdoor lifestyle is fantastic with the Rockies barely 13 miles away and many trails and parks in and around the city. Denver is an easy 40 mins away and Boulder is also within easy reach. It is quiet compared to Boulder - and cheaper - but all Boulder's attractions are close by. It is an affluent community with very nice neighbourhoods and the people are friendly, intelligent and well educated by and large.

We are considering relocation to Colorado from California. We have 2 boys, ages 7 and 9. Would you consider Longmont a good place to raise kids? How are the schools?
