Review of Rumson, New Jersey

Having it all in Rumson, New Jersey
Star Rating - 9/3/2008
Rumson, NJ is one of those rare places where you really can have it all. A quick 40 minute ferry ride takes you to New York City for all it has to offer for work, culture and play. Situated on the New Jersey shore, Rumson sits on a peninsula and is surrounded by the waterways of the Navesink and Shrewsbury Rivers. Living in Rumson provides numerous opportunities for water based recreation including easy access to the rivers, bays, marinas, beaches, and boardwalks. The local and county park system are unrivaled, and the 1600+ square mile Sandy Hook National Park is a barrier peninsula with miles of beaches just a few minutes from Rumson. Nearby is Red Bank, a fantastic downtown with great restaurants, galleries, boutique shopping, best choices for antiquing, and an active calendar of events filled with outdoor festivals. Tree lined streets are anchored with joggers and cyclists. You won’t find chain stores, franchises, or strip malls in Rumson, but you can find those a short jaunt away.
