Wonderful little town in a beautiful setting

Dahlonega is beautiful, the town is quaint and the people are kind. Dahlonega appreciates, celebrates and preserves the traditions of the past without being afraid to accept the progressiveness of the future. There is a wonderful mix of ages here due to the army rangers, the college and the appeal of retirement in the beautiful north Georgia mountains. The elementary school staff are wonderful, and what they can accomplish with such a huge student population is impressive to say the least. I’d love to see more full time residents and less short term rentals, but I can understand why so many folks love to vacation in Dahlonega. It’s like stepping one foot into the past while keeping one foot in the future. I would love to see more city parks and playgrounds here someday. Appealing to younger families is the best way to ensure Dahlonega’s future.
