Review of Lynden, Washington

Best kept secret in the Northwest
Star Rating - 2/25/2024
Moved from Metro Philadelphia. We looked at 10 communities in the following states Del, Tenn, AZ , PA, Tex, NM, ID, WA. We narrowed it down to two great towns Washington State. I was absolutely certain that my wife’s heartfelt desire was to live in Arizona. She changed her mind and chose Lynden. We like both like being in a lovely smaller town, zero crime, very nicely kept, great people and beautiful surroundings. Plenty to see and do. The Jansen Art center is fantastic! I will only name a few of the reasons for moving cross country. East Coast “in your face” and irresponsible politics, high crime rate, break ins, no bail criminal culture, very high taxes, poor workmanship in the skilled tradesmen, unhappy and unpleasant community atmosphere. Taxpayers constantly complaining, yet voted the same folks back in. Lynden is only an hour away from Vancouver and we go to Canada almost as often as we go to Bellingham.. As I say to my wife daily, “it really feels like we’re on vacation here” as we gaze at Mount Baker from out living room window situated on on the golf coarse. Lastly, we met two families from our old Metro Philly neighborhood who moved to Lynden a few years ago.ironically. Lynden is the best kept secret in the Northwest and we are very grateful for the neighbors and new found friends. .
