Even though the Lung and Cancer Associations and the Environmental Protection Agency have lots of published, website and hardcopy, information about all lung diseases and cancer, especially COPD, the 4th largest cuase of death. And the facts about how seriuosly harmful it is to breath the high particulate matter and toxic gases from wood smoke EVERYONE burns wood stoves, fireplaces and yard/land clearing fires, year round in Oregon. Especially Medford, Grants Pass, Roseburg and Eugene. It is bad enough that they all insist on wood burning but not one person knows how to correctly build and burn a legal, smokeless fire. The EPA trys to educate how to correctly build and burn a fire to minimize the smoke and adverse health impacts, but no one pays attention or cares. Dont move to Oregon unless you dont minfd ruining your health and living a shorter life then you would if you lived somewhere else. And you just love the smell of smoke 24/7/365 instead of breathing oxygen.
