Don’t live in Forest Park

Lived here in Forest Park since 2017, and I can safely say it’s getting worse. As a matter of fact, just 2 days ago while moving my stuff out of my old apartment, a shooting occurred just downstairs in the parking lot, yay! This was in broad daylight. There are affluent homes just a block away from where it occurred. Apparently two teens were injured. Yeah... I don’t feel safe in this town anymore. I know crime is everywhere, but when you live this close to CTA, the scum of the earth finds its way to you. Apparently, the crime is 84% higher than the national average in Forest Park, yay! The cops seem pretty useless, too. You should’ve seen how late they showed up to the scene after the shooting, despite the fact that they’re located just a block or two down the street. You’re kinda on your own in this town. It gives off this sort of community vibe on Madison, yet a f***ing shooting occurred right off Madison, smack dab in the downtown area. I guess I won’t be shopping or eating in Forest Park anymore. Don’t you just love it when terrible human beings make the town you live in a scarier place? Seriously, Chicago sucks, and Forest Park does too. Maybe a little less so, but I’ll level with you: I just closed on a place last month and I’m already looking to sell. Gotta move up north, away from these f***ing losers killing each other in our street while we’re just trying to go about our day. Stupid people, stupid town.
