I was transferred down here 5 years ago .. Biggest mistake in my life.. if costs almost as much to live here as it does in Austin. The city owns the electric company and the rates are just unreal, the cost of housing ( if you want something dececent) is as much as Victoria or Austin. The local police are a joke, the crime rate here is unbelievable! The town has gotten dirty and unsafe ! the population is 85 percent hispanic. The job market is non-existant ! if you are considering moving here I would run not walk the other direction !
