Review of Boise City, Idaho

Boise totally full of yourself now. Laughable.
Star Rating - 6/12/2021
I've lived here for 20 years.
Despite being VERY DISGUSTED at the horrible, massive over-development that has taken place, and is not over, I will try and put my emotions into check and give a cool-headed, objective view of this area.
1. Cost of living really depends on your financial situation. I read today, 6/12/21 that the average home price in the area - Boise/Meridian has not gotten to $500,000. If you rent an apartment, like I do, you'll be very hard pressed to find anything, as there are almost no vacancies unless you are a college student and ok with living in dorm/shared/hostel style. The owneR of the building I've rented in for an embarrassingly long time has kept the rent increases to a very small %; however, I fear that may change this summer, and I will be forced out. Me and my girlfriend are putting together a short list of places.
2. If you are conservative/right wing minded, you'll fit right in. Someone who considers themselves Democratic/Left wing now, is really what Right Wing was in the 80's pretty much. Right wing now is "loony bin" and the almighty dollar is more important than ANYTHING - climate change, our planet, human beings, education, fair taxation, equal treatment of all human beings, Government spending on positive externalities [like the FDA, EPA, CDC, sorely needed infrastructure maintenance and rebuild, Honest Representation in Government - (vs what the system has become, with politicians on both sides "owned tools" of hyper-Capitalistic corporations)]. If you're right wing, do you not care about your kids growing up being able to breath clean air, and recreate in open space????
3. Mountain Biking. If you're outdoorsy - and by that I don't mean hunter. I don't consider a "hunter" as an athlete. I'm talking about Mountain Bike Trail Riding, Road Cycling, Kayaking, Trail Running, getting way out there- etc - you'll dig it! BUT, the trail networks have gotten massively overcrowded locally. Still, you can be on singletrack quickly, if you live anywhere near the foothills of Boise. There's also a bike park in Eagle and one in Boise - the one in Boise you better have your wall ride and jumping skills on. There is a pump track at each park too. The one in Boise is asphalt, which is interesting. So if you're a mountain biker, you'll have good quantity, but not a lot of diversity - most of foothills trail network is kinda smooth, a lot machine made - true singletrack, but not technical. You can get tech at Tablerock, but
