I have traveled the country and have visited many cities and states. I have never been in a place so bad in my life. The people are nice to your face, but if you are not from here they don't want you here and will never accept you. They are not social. They all talk about being christian but no one knows what that really means. You will not be welcomed by anyone in this hell hole no church no organization of any kind. The people here are slow to do anything if they got any slower they would be in a grave. The customer service is so bad they act like they are doing you a favor. You have to travel over a hundred miles to get a decent meal. The restaurants are horrible if a real health inspector went in to these places they would close them. The neighborhoods are dirty with broken cars in their yard and plenty of trash. You can clearly see there is no code enforcement. Dogs are running up and down the streets. Driving into the city it looks like a dump with run down buildings, trash, vehicles that haven't moved in a decade. The smell and flies make you want to scream. Driving in the parking lot of walmart is like a death wish. The people there wear their pajamas and slippers to the store. If you want to shop you have to go to Lubbock or Amarillo. The nicest people here are the ones not from here. If your military stick with the people from the military or you will not have any social outlets at all.
I have never seen so many fat kids in a town this small before. It is clear that the community leaders that no pride in the town so the residents don't either. If you have children there is NOTHING for them to do no programs nothing. The best of this town is the community college. I am here with the military and can't wait to leave. I guess this has taught me that where I came from is heaven and it will nice to go home. And for the person who says if you don't like it do something about it, dream on no one will let you do anything to help the community or even volunteer. The attitude is your not from here leave your money and go home.

I lived in North Dakota, very cold and isolated and it was still better than Clovis. If you like small towns with small mall and Walmart being the best place to shop and driving an hour and a half to go to Best Buy, Target, Outback, a real mall, a nice movie theater that plays all movies not just ones they like, be able to buy a drink in a store like beer on Sunday,a variety of clubs for all genre and ages, nice smelling air, trees, a choice of shopping, options for people who are single without kids, my list goes on and on. The houses here are over priced, they have very limited good apartments, hell very limited apartments at all. The cable company does not come to your house on the weekends, the town has nice people but if you complain about anything not being here they tell you to go to Lubbock, Tx for it(1 hour and 35 minutes out). Example, I need to go to babies r us, go to Lubbock, I want to buy an HDTV from somewhere besides Walmart go to Lubbock or Amarillo Tx, I want to go to a sports bar or buffalo wild wings or even hooters, go to Lubbock young man. So here is the deal, it is a town that begged the government not to close its air force base down, so they came up with a bogus mission and new command for it. The town promised in around 2007 to add more things it lacked like stores, apartments for the increase in base populace, and other services. Most not all who come here to live are military and most not all hate it here for what I stated, some even quit the military versus risking staying here for more than four years. So just remember what I stated and go to youtube and type in clovis New Mexico. To all the local people, stop saying its a nice town without giving reasons to counter what even your young people say is true(did I mention the high pregnancy rate)
