Review of Perry, Florida

Growing up in Perry
Star Rating - 5/6/2008
I was born in Perry and spent about 12 years as a child there. Now I am talking about the 80s. Back then Perry looked very different, and had a small town feeling. My family went to New Home Baptist Church(now it has a different pastor), everyone was so friendly and always willing to lend a helping hand. The town was not as big back then, and everyone knew everyone else.
Most of my family still lives there and from what I hear from them, they still enjoy living there. My sister works at Buckeye, my brother at the prison and my dad is retired now, he worked at the rock mine. My grandparents have lived there I think about 45 years and still love it. I have to travel about five hours to go and visit and when I do, I run into people who remember me, and they say hello, like no time has past at all. Perry to me, has gone a little down hill, and because of it's low cost of living has attracted alot of low self-esteem, and racist kind of people. All in all Perry will always be my home town, and if given the choice I would move back if I needed to. Thanks for reading my comment, and may God Bless you all.
