Hodgkins is an industrial park. It has one of the largest UPS terminals in the world. It has one of the largest Santa Fe -Burlington Northern freight terminals in the U.S. These two massive facilities are a fraction of the businesses located in Hodgkins. All this industry doesn't leave much room for housing. The residential area consists of about 25 square blocks and 3 small mobile home parks. Hodgkins has good schools. several nice parks, an excellent police and fire department and no village taxes. It is a very nice place to live, I have lived here for two decades.
