Julie, the South will give you 6 to 7 months of HOT weather. Temp. that range between 90*F to 110*F and in some areas up to 120*F. It's just like living in an oven, I'd welcome the snow anyday of the week. ( smiling )

I grew up in Central Wisconsin and married/ raised a family in Virginia. I spend my summers cooped up inside due to the heat and humidity and long for the summers of Wisconsin where I was outside biking and on the water. Also greatly miss the lakes as we're land locked here. Not many lakes and ocean is 3 hours away. Virginia winters are on. I long for the snow but we get mostly cold rain and ice. So think twice about the southern weather. We're retiring to Wisconsin in two years.
