Unless you are looking for a low Quality of Life stay away from New Carlisle. Most of us live a City to be protected by Ordinances, Noise, Zoning, Code Enforcement. Not in this City, first of all we have Part time protection from the Clark County Sheriff's Office, many 8 hour shifts we are at the mercy of hoping that if we need protection a Deputy who is not on Contract with our City can make it from the other side of Springfield in time.
Trash garbage, appliances setting in streets on porches, in alleys, trash and debris all over the place as we have a garbage system that allows you to buy a blue bag for 2.50 ea, a lot of people here would rather buy a six pack of a line of coke with the money and just set the trash out at the alley, if it's not in the blue bag Republic Waste will not take it then it sets and piles up and nothing usually happens. Whats paint? numerous home need painted and exterior maintenance people are to poor here or just tell the city to F*** off. Nothing happens. There are a few fine homes in and around town don't get me wrong, but for how much longer ? Our neighborhood used to be pretty static, it is on the decline and keeps getting Worse.
We have a few slumlords here in town that took advantage of the housing foreclosure. Converted single family homes in nice neighborhoods into 2, 3 and four unti apartments with all of the drugs, alcohol, and mess that comes with people who rent from landlords who are trying to maximize profits and dont care what they are doing to the rest of the town.
Stay away from the free zone... No Quality of Life..
