Review of Bentonville, Arkansas

Beautiful but not much social life!
Star Rating - 12/20/2019
People are friendly when out and about for the most part. Lots of people from India and CA are moving here. Walmart owns and controls EVERYTHING from the police department and politicians and dictating what restaurants / stores that can move in the area.Trust me when I say you can definitely feel and see the control. Good luck trying to find organic food that doesn't cost you an arm and a leg. $3.00 each for one organic cucumber (Totally ridiculous) unless you shop at Walmart and you can get two for $3 which is still expensive and they're not very good tasting most of the time. The other grocery stores in the area have to keep their prices high so you to shop at Walmart unless you're willing to pay the extra money and I do mean extra!!! Mercy Healthcare System totally sucks! Nobody cares and you deal with a bunch of incompetent Idiot's that can't do their job correctly especially in the call center that you're forced to deal with since your doctor's office doesn't have a staff to answer the phone so they route all calls to the call center. Real estate agents for the most part are snobby, butt kissing liars and there is no shortage of them! Good luck trying to find a good one to work with. This is a high turn over area for Walmart, there is a lot of properties for rent. I would strongly suggest not dealing with the largest real estate company NWA. (Google
them) I don't want to say their name because they'll probably sue me that's how dirty they are!!! There is a lack of Builders here as most of them are small owned companies and they sell the homes to real estate companies who then sell them to you. There are about four different Builder's here and I don't think any of them build good quality homes from what I seen unless you're going to pay 400k and up. Parks are nice with lots of walking and biking trails and are pet friendly. AR definitely puts a lot of money into their parks! Lots of restaurants but so few with "Good" food if your well-traveled you'll know good restaurants. I love all the Chicago style pizza places that have no idea what is Chicago style pizza actually is lol! The area is growing and I would suggest not moving to Springdale. Bella Vista has burn dump and everyone that lives there has to pay a POA however, it is beautiful especially Tanyard Creek Park. It is a retirement area and there's really nothing there other then the 2 golf courses about 6 restaurants McDonald's and Dairy Queen being two of them so most people drive to Rogers or Bentonville for shopping and food but it's not that far. The closest Walmart in Bella Vista is crossing the Missouri line. You will see bum's in the intersections in Bentonville trying to collect money! The only time you'll see the Bentonville Police is when there's a car accident. Downtown Bentonville looks Charming and has a few cool shops and good restaurants but other than that, there's not much going on other then the usual Farmers Market, Crystal Bridges, Walmart Amphitheater and some tourist traps. A good portion of people that live in Bentonville have your usual snobby trying the keep up with the Kartrashians we live in a politically correct bubble attitude
and renters who don't care for the most part. There are nice people but most don't like to socialize unless you join some type of group or work with them. They just come home and pull in their garages and you never see them. If you're looking for a nightlife or dating it's non-existent unless you're willing to drive to Fayetteville which is a college town and they technically only has one street (Dixon) with bars on it and you have to usually pay for parking. The Mall in Rogers is nice however this area still lacks a lot of nice retail stores unless you're willing to drive to Little Rock, Springfield MO or Tulsa Ok. If you're looking for Ethan Allen, West Elm and Macy's forget it. Forget shopping at stores like Kroger, Costco, Trader Joes etc.. they are non-existent here however they do have 1 Whole Foods in Fayetteville. Most of Fayetteville is old and rundown/dirty looking. The VA facility however is for the most part, very good compared to some other States and there is a good former Military presence here Hoorah! They will be opening a Topgolf soon which I'm assuming is going to be the next big thing for the entire area since sliced bread. If you're a non-social person and like to just pull in your garage and not socialize this is the place for you!
