Yep. We moved in 2005 from Minnesota to The Cape. (We had been visiting family there for 20+ years.) Once we got there to actually LIVE there, we left after a year. Appalling place with too many vagrants. No sense of "Community". Sure you can have a cheap house, but why would you want to live somewhere you can't get a job & where most the houses in your neighborhood are empty? And don't even get me started on the school system, has been voted one of the worst in the country. HORRIFIC!!!! Perfect place for someone who wants to hide, because no one cares who you are. HENCE THE REASON THEY HAVE THE HIGHEST RATE IN THE COUNTRY FOR SEX OFFENDERS. The Government will leave you alone except when they ant your tax money. Yep, we moved back to Minnesota. Rather have the snow than live in a place with nice weather and....ummmm.... well, that's it. They have nice weather.

Not sure what taxes you are paying, but my property taxes here in the Cape are ridiculous! I was house shopping and after seeing what the taxes were on these houses I decided I should move. I liked it here until my taxes started getting higher every year. It is crazy what taxes are here! And yes I have the homestead exemption and even the TINY disability exemption. $8000 a year taxes on a house to me is outrageous.
