Meth Abuse in Small Town Iowa
Star Rating - 9/2/2008
When hearing about a small town like Cherokee, Iowa, one may think "what a great place to raise children!" This maybe true, but meth is a growing concern in small farm communities because of the easy access to the materials needed to manufacture it. Taking a trip to a local Bomgaars for a meth addict can be compared to a kid in a candy store. The only "difficult" aspect for a meth manufacturer is obtaining the chemicals needed. Anhydrous Ammonia, a main component in a type of meth deemed "annie", is available to those who are brave enough to steal it (I'm guessing a meth addict would not have the inhibition to stop them.) All in all, Cherokee is a small, quiet, community with low costs of living and very few job opportunities.
