Review of Bloomington City, Illinois

Rough Climate
Star Rating - 8/11/2011
Although Bloomington is located in Central Illinois (literally in the middle of the state and approximately 140 miles southwest of Chicago), the weather is not as moderate as it seems to have been in years past. Winters are 5 to 6 months long and have become bitterly cold with high winds and heavy snowfall. There have been many days with no sunshine the past couple of years. Summers are 4 to 5 months long and have been hot and humid with temperatures in the high 80's and 90's and heat indexes of 100 to 113. Spring and Fall seasons are very short. Hopefully, the recent weather here has been an anomaly and will return to a more moderate state in the future.
