Review of Kalona, Iowa

Grew up in Kalona
Star Rating - 4/5/2007
Kalona is a very small town with a big heart. As long as you belong to a church, and get involved with your church, you will get plugged in very quickly. The people there are wonderful and will do anything to help you out. You are about 30 minutes away from Iowa City where movie theaters and restaurants are located. All the shops in Kalona are closed on Sunday. Great place to raise kids (now that I am an adult I can see that). When I got to high school, I could not wait to get out of Iowa...I thought it was too boring. I am glad I left at that time because I needed it. However, I now cannot wait to go back, as we are craving that calm quality of life.
