Review of Sloan, New York

Best Place to Live
Star Rating - 2/15/2011
Sloan offers a wonderful family inviroment, neighbors who are friendly and watch out for each other and thier children. We have great community services, our own highway dept., park, and swimming pool. Our village property taxes are based on a 62% home assessment. Our garbage and recyling are included in our taxes. The village sponsors a Family Picnic every August, concerts in the park throughout the summer, a Holloween parade and Costume party with prizes at the village firehall, A Christmas Parade and Christmas party at the firehall, a Easter Egg Hunt and ( You guessed it ) a Easter Party with Easter candy for the kids at the firehall. The village of Sloan has open meetings the second Tuesday of every month. All are encouraged to attend, and voice opinions. We have an elementary school with a low student to teacher rate. A Senior Center that provides hot lunches to it's seniors, and companionship, and doubles as a teen recreaction center upstairs, with arcade style games, and on line computer service. Housing that is affordable. Excellant Police, Fire, and Ambulance service. Sloan, A GREAT place to LIVE.
