Columbia Sucks
Star Rating - 11/13/2014
I have visited Columbia several times, and actually lived there for almost a year. The entire time I was there, there were constant, numerous sirens going off, a house next door to where I was living got robbed, by their own son. I had to lock my car door when walking only a couple of yards, to get gas. The people are plastic and the service at retail stores was horrible. I guess it's an okay place if you're in college and like to party all the time - but definitely not a moral, safe place to raise a family. People drive as if they're blind - so many accidents on the road. And the weather - always humid, stifling heat and no pretty change of seasons. Definitely not my cup of tea.

A high number of churches does not indicate high morals. In fact, many churchgoing people here, Baptists especially, have developed a snobbish, high-and-mighty, neo-racist attitude. Columbia is full of these people.

Sharon, I think you must have been living in the wrong part of town. There are a number of pleasant areas to live in and around the Columbia area. Not a moral place? Trying googling on google maps for 'churches, Columbia, SC' and let me know what you see! :)

D B. a lot of churches don't mean a thing but more ignorance as far as the statistics read.

Yeah, tell me about wonderful whether in Massachusetts. Seasons changes - ok. But snowstorms in winter not a surprise for anyone. You complain about humidity in Columbia? Really? Boston is sucks in summer time. I need to have 2-3 t-shirts in my back pack while I take a short walk from Quincy Market to Copley Place, thats how its humid. Drivers in Boston - assholes. No blinkers and no respect, not even mention traffic all day around. City of Boston ""they said" made for "bicycles", yep with white bikes here and there on a corners, even in small cities like Somerville. Rent everywhere in Massachusetts/ including Beverly is just insane. You got lucky if you can find 1Bd - 650 Sqft apartment for 1300$, even if you live 2-3 hours away from downtown Boston, rent is still very high and apartments for this price is garbage. You need 1800-2000$ in you pocket just for rent. Plus taxes are huge and for every single thing. Thinking to get a house in Beverly, be ready for 1Bd Condo - at least 180.000$ - 200.000$. I guess its your cup of tea, ok.
