Quality of life issues

We have been living in Springfield, VA for a number of years. The area does have jobs, but the quality of life is not very good. Springfield lacks a community center; meaning a place like a town center where everyone can come together for holidays or some type of community events. It's really just an area with allot of sprawling. It suffers from really bad traffic on scale many people can't imagine. It is an expensive place in general and housing is very expensive. We are planning to move out in search for a better quality of life.
