I have lived in Salem for 40 of my 41 years and saying that there's NO events or entertainment is just inaccurate. The reality of it is that maybe the activities are not very well advertised or common knowledge, but if you simply ask around or do some research you will find a lot of activities especially given the size and population of Salem. Saying we're overly conservative is once again QUITE FAR FROM REALITY. Out local art community and the overall acceptance of controversial topics and tolerance of each others lifestyles and self expression is more positive than almost anywhere else I have been. Aside from of course the much bigger cities. We don't have it that bad. Relax a little.

A senior lady here, I remember living in Salem north end when I was a kid with my family. We raised watermelons and cantaloupe and had fruit trees too. The house and neighborhood is gone, wiped out for some reason, see that the road is blocked off...it was a very bad left turn into the main road, so probably for the accidents. Don't remember much else as didn't live there long. But grandma is buried there and thought I would move back. Hoping that some reviews are good. Thank you.

It’s much better than snow! It’s kind of like the tropics. A rainy season and a sunny season. It’s rainy but cozy in the winter. We take our vacations in the winter for a pick me up.
