Cheektowaga Housing

I have lived in the Buffalo area my whole life and recently bought a home in the Cheektowaga area (2 years ago). I truly love the area, it is close to everything, with nice homes and for the most part decent people. The housing prices are very low for the amount of house you receive in comparision to many other areas of the United States. However, the tax rate in the Cheektowaga area is completely out of hand. Over half of my mortgage payment every single month is for the taxes, and it continues to get worse. I have seriously considered selling my home after just two years to move to another area because of this. For the "services" provided it is a very disappointing fact of life for us....not to mention just the slightest imperfection in your home will cost you a citation and most likely a heavy fine. Though I can certainly understand wanting to live in a perfect area when you pay 50% of your mortgage in taxes.
