Review of Belle Mead, New Jersey

Peaceful central NJ location near nature respites
Star Rating - 11/17/2018
Belle Mead is a quiet slice of suburbia nestled between Princeton and New Brunswick. We moved here in 1990 because I worked at Princeton University and my wife was a student at Rutgers and this location was an ideal compromise. Montgomery Township schools are top-tier and I am glad my children had a chance to be educated here. Housing prices and property taxes tend to be a bit on the expensive side here, but there are bargains to be found - mostly houses built in the 1970s and earlier. Pubic transportation is mostly nonexistent here, so yours will probably be a mutli-car household. We love how close we are to the Sourland Mountain Preserve, for hiking, and we often take our bikes to the Delaware-Raritan canal tow path for biking along the canal. We have seen countless chipmunks, blue herons, and even eagles while biking along the canal. This is a wonderful place to live!
